Two-Man Chapman

The Memorial Day holiday weekend kicked off with the Member/Member Chapman event.  Twelve teams gathered under very wet skies.  The weather models did not look good for the remainder of the tournament as heavy rain was on the way.  Fortunately, they were wrong and things dried out after the first couple of holes and held off for the rest of the round.

This format has been a staple at the Plateau Club over the years.  Both players teed off from the gold tees. The players then switched balls for the second shot.  Following the second shot, each team picks the preferred ball and the format turns to alternate shot until the ball is holed. 

A total purse of $600.00 was available with #1 and 2 Gross and #1-6 Net paying off. 

Several post round beers were consumed by the early finishers as the other groups were finishing their rounds.

Bob Thomas and Brent Mudgett used an eagle two on hole number 4 to push their way to the gross title, finishing with a 76, 4 over par.

There was a tie atop the net standings as the team of Ceri Eames and Norm Escover we even with the team of Tejas Kamarkar and Sean Lee.  Both teams carded a net 66, or 6 under par.

The Plateau Cup standing have been updated and posted.  Just when we thought Darrell Clayton was going to run away and hide with the lead, the field reeled him back in.  Bob Thomas is back atop the standings, now tied with Darrell.  Joe Lipinsky is third, three points back.  Gary Grembowski, Bob Smrecansky and Jay Horton are all in the top five.  The next tournament is the big one!  Member Member.  Three days of serious golf competition.
