Wet Weather Classic

The traditional PMGA kick-off event is now second on the schedule.  This year’s event was played under a dry sky with the occasional sun break.  Wet Weather was still a factor due to the heavy rain earlier in the week.  There were several new water hazards on the course and the sand bunkers definitely took a hit.  The greens staff will have their work cut out for them in the coming weeks.

The format for the tournament was best ball, two-man teams.  From the Blue Tees each player received their full handicap.  This was a trophy event with a who’s who of Plateau Club history have their names engraved.

 A total purse of $500.00 was available with #1 Gross and #1-5 Net paying off.

Your Gross Division Champions – Russel Williams and Steve King won with an even par 72.They scattered before pictures could be had.

Bob Thomas made it two for two – this time partnering with Adam Waalkes for the Net victory.  Here is Adam showing off their Net 63 score.

The Plateau Cup standing have been updated and posted.  With two straight victories, Bob Thomas is breaking out to an early lead.  Joe Lipinsky, Rick Gallagher, Adam Waalkes and Russel Williams are tied for second with 7 points.  Through two events, just under 50% of PMGA members have taken part.  The next tournament is right around the corner on Sunday, March 13th with the Player’s Championship.  This is an individual, stroke play event.
