The Masters

A tradition unlike any other turned into a weather nightmare as Mother Nature turned against the PMGA.  Frequent rain and hail, along with arctic like temperatures greeted the golfer for the season’s first major parallel.  So much so, we had several golfers turn in DNFs and some opted for the comfort of their couch and the real Masters.

The format was individual scoring, blue tees and winter rules.  Players could opt for a round on either Saturday or Sunday, so long as they played with another PMGA Member.

A total purse of $500.00 was available with #1 and #2 Gross and #1-5 Net paying off.

Congratulations to Mike Boden on winning the Gross Division with a superb even par 72.  This is Mike’s first individual PMGA title and second tournament victory in a row.

The Net division was a tie between Fred Glastetter and Chris O’Neil.  Each finished with a net 69.  Neither chose a pro for Sunday in the Masters and a tie for first resulted.

With two victories in a row, Mike Boden jumps to the lead in the Plateau Cup standings.  Big moves were also made by Chris O’Neil, Phil Winkel, Damon Buono and Fred Glastetter.  There is a three week break until the next tournament – Member/Member Shamble.  This is a new format on the schedule, one that is very popular throughout clubs, but making its debut at the PMGA.
